Skaters

   Have you ever wanted to be good at a sport but you can’t bear the feeling of sweating your armpits out? Fear not! This amazingly helpful and informative blog is going to lead you to the right sport that is just for you.
   Put sport and heatless together, and you get ice skating. Ice skating shoes, or more commonly known as skates, consists of specialized boots with steel blades as its main star of the show. These shoes are used to propel the bearer across a sheet of ice while ice skating.

Finns, the Baltic Finnic ethnic group from Finland, were the ancestors of ice skates from 5,000 years ago. These “feet blades”, as I like to call them, are designed for specific activities; figure skating,  hockey,  and even recreation. It may seem easy to get the hang of it on the first look, but they offer crucial ankle support and safety. Let me run you through 3 of the most recognized forms of activities that has skates as the main heart of.

  • Ice hockey:
  • Hockey uses a type of skate consists of a boot, laces, blade, and a blade holder. The boot is generally made of leather (often synthetic), ballistic nylon, thermoformed composite material, or molded plastic. Skates that are used in competitive ice hockey rarely use molded plastic for the upper boot, as this results in limited mobility. This sport is a fast-paced, high-contact team sport played on ice where two teams of six (5 skaters and 1 goalie) use sticks to shoot a vulcanized rubber puck into the opponent's net.
  • Figure skating:
  • This very well-known sport consists of figure skates different from hockey skates. Unlike hockey skates, these have saw-toothed toe picks (also known as toe-rakes) on the front of the blade. The steel blades are completed with a steel runner. The toe pick has a crucial function for certain jumps in figure skating (Lutz jump, toe loop, and backspin starting). The boots are typically made of several layers of very stiff leather to provide ankle support. In addition, the blades are slightly curved upward for minute adjustments in balance and weight distribution.
  • Recreation: Inexpensive skates for recreational skaters usually resemble either figure skates or hockey skates, but recreational ice skates resembling inline skates with a molded plastic boot are also available. These recreational skates are commonly rented from ice rinks by beginners who do not own their own skates. In the non-American English-speaking world, they are sometimes called 'death wellies' by skaters who own their own equipment because of their appearance and their reputation for giving the wearer blisters. People who own their own skates may further reduce the risk of blisters by adding a friction management patch to areas inside the skate that could rub or chafe.
   Finding the perfect skates for you requires surface intelligence with basic characteristics and key features of an ideal skates that covers the fit, stiffness, material, and trusted long-term brands for purchasing a good feet blade.
  • Fit: Skates should feel snug, not painful. A good rule of thumb is to go down one size from your regular shoes for figure skates and one-and-a-half for hockey skates.
  • Stiffness : Beginners need moderate support, while advanced skaters need stiffer boots to handle high impact-jumps for ankle support.
  • Material: High-quality leather or durable synthetics provide longevity and protection. Do avoid getting molded plastic if you're interested in ice hockey for they lack the performance, comfort, and, paradoxically, the long-term durability of modern composite materials.
   While blades are the main organ for ice skating, safety is crucial. The sports that varies the use of ice skates requires protection that avoids your well-being from injuries and further side effects. When you start your first trip to the ice skating rink wearing your skates, it is better to bring someone with experience to guide and give you a heads-up on the field. Your blades must be sharpened regularly for proper performance. Your skates should never touch the concrete; this dulls the blades and creates hazards both for you and your surrounding. The moment you finish your first experience on the rink, don't forget to use blade guards when walking off the ice and soaking covers to prevent rusting on your beloved blades.
   In the end, ice skating shoes are more than just stylish ice boots to gain you more aura. They’re the key to balance, control, and confidence on the ice. The right pair can make your experience on ice smoother, spins steadier, lowers your cortisol, and makes every glide feel magical you feel like you're channeling Alysa Liu. So whether you’re a beginner or chasing big jumps, good skates truly make the experience more fun and unforgettable. Happy skating!

Teks Sejarah Komunikasi

Perkembangan Teknologi Komunikasi

Anabelle Silitonga, IX-G

———————————

  • Domain : daerah asal, yaitu A = {1, 2, 3, 4}
  • Kodomain : daerah kawan, yaitu B = {1, 4, 9, 16, 25}
  • Relasi : daerah hasil, yaitu = {1, 4, 9, 16}

2. Diagram Cartesius
